Queenstown NZ – House #2

Our New Zealand road trip has begun!

We landed amidst the beautiful mountains of Queenstown around midday (courtesy of a 3-hour time change from Australia). We picked up our bright blue rental car (which thankfully fit our luggage — our Australian one required the kids to hold one suitcase on their laps!) and got to our “bach” — accommodation rented through BookaBach in NZ. It’s simple space which we absolutely love — the location is perfect and the view completely stunning.imageimage

imageWe headed into town to explore, eat and get groceries. We’d read about a good burger place — not hard to find, as the line up was down the block at 2:30pm! Fergburger did not disappoint. Kids all had beef, Tim and I  had lamb — we all agreed they were possibly the best burgers we’d ever eaten. Delicious and kept us full until well after supper time.imageimg_1977

We explored the town (a lot like Banff) and gasped at the high prices and limited choices at the grocery store (why are kiwi fruit more expensive than in Canada when they are grown here?)

No Wifi at our place, so we binged on old HGTV episodes instead!

  1. Wow! What a gorgeous place! Brenna and Trent were also shocked at the price of food there! Guess it makes one appreciate home! Those burgers sound amazing though!!
